The Story of a Boy and Girl

It was a cold bright night,
Moon rose above their heads,
As they drove down the road into wilderness,
Until stumbling onto a beautiful place,
Where they left mobility to walk,

The jungle on the left and on the right,
Moon shining full-some and bright,
Heart pumping unusually fast,
Their hands in pocket and eyes on a trot,
On the road,Off the road,
Into the sky,into the jungle,
And sometimes towards one another,

The gift of words he had,
Or he thought he had,
Had withered temporarily,
Leaving behind uncertainty and caution,
Amid abundance of rushing emotions,
A tenderness in skin arrived un-invited,
Weakening his heart one more notch,

He moved ahead to turn a corner,
Right into the wilderness,
Un-invited yet confident,
Not of himself but the providence,
Soon entering a jungle lane,
Walking in step, they spoke all the while,
Yet nothing that ought to have been spoken,
One afraid, one introspect,

The light was now stronger,
As the midnight arrived,
There came a "hissing" of the jungle,
Was it a cue?
He didn't know and she hardly knew too,
The trees were initially far and few,
Then more and dense,
Then far and few again,
But monologue of the hearts continued,
Rather detached from the words they spoke,

He finally gathered the courage,
To take a broken path,
She followed in tandem,
Till they came to a small hill,
The Hill was bare and difficult to climb,
Though stones at the bottom were broken and kind,
They sat there together,
Looking straight into the darkness,

The darkness and the calm were the order now,
As they sat next to each other,
Boy waiting to speak,
Girl waiting to listen,
Strutting frequently he uttered few words,
While shaking nervously and holding her hand,
Leaving the comforts of his fear,
Behind which he hid his feelings,
As she opened the curtain to her heart,
Unleashing its grandeur,

The dam was broken and the waters soar,
The quiet heart had a mythical roar,
The feelings were true,
As they always knew,
But there was someone today to listen to,
The sea of emotions then poured around,
Soon the darkness was flooded,
With magic of love,
And they swam and sailed,
Hands closely held...
