View from a sack of potatoes

View while sitting atop a sack of potatoes in a train can be really hilarious.

In general bogey of a train there is understandable hurry and mutual suspicion against everyone till you adjust yourself on smallest piece of land inside the compartment. Once you have unlocked that achievement time comes for a considerable amount of satisfaction and contentment. 10-15 minutes after the train starts and once satisfaction has outlived it's utility everyone is looking at scaling the next challenge of the journey, that's usually being able to eat or sleep amid all the chaos. During this period  one can see a lot of happy faces chewing something and many sleeping beauties mumbling, snoring or simply swinging along with the train.
Every station along the way presents a small battle for those inside to preserve their land and those outside to push, pull, shout, grab and somehow make space for themselves inside the compartment. Inside these trains you can very easily find a big businessman,a tall politician,a journalist, Muscle-man,a great thinker, poet, writer or anyone along same series of thought. If you are wondering how will you find these great people so easily, the answer is they will themselves tell you in detail about their greatness.

View while sitting atop a sack of potatoes in a train can be really humbling.

Inside the same train you can see many ladies sitting on floor, one or two trying to breastfeed their kid amid such a large crowd. A small poor man pushed around by a strong poor man.  An old man braving the journey looking through all of this noise with profound sense of acceptance of the way things function. You can also see lines of men and women relieving themselves along the tracks few of them covering their faces as the train passes and few sportingly smiling.
The train manifests in it cross section of India. There are people in it who know nothing about poor except occasionally turning the other way on seeing a living example of it and then there are people in it who know nothing about rich except glaring intensely on having seen an example of it.
The right of a dignified life with basic usual facilities is responsibility of a nation state and if 67 years after independence we are still going 2 steps ahead and 4 steps back while doing that then the nation needs to shake up and ponder. India is the 3rd largest economy of the world. It is one of fastest growing emerging economy as well and we regularly hear of a lot of schemes and programs which promise to change many things but the fact is mostly things stay the way they are.If we carefully see till now broadly we have tried to govern India in a "Top Down" manner wherein there are a set of officials from top to bottom who have been entrusted with the responsibility to implement various schemes .The  method has clearly failed since there are a series of middlemen, brokers and corrupt officials who make sure that by the time money reaches the bottom very little or nothing of it remains. Alternatively we can use a "Bottom Up" approach to governance & implementation of various schemes. In today's age where more and more citizens are getting directly connected to the financial system through bank accounts and PAN cards, doing it is actually possible.
A concept of "Participative Implementation and monitoring" needs to be evolved. For example in a district or Tehsil identification and prioritization of projects for entire year can be done by organising a seminar of village elders during a fixed time and period of a year and selected projects sanctioned amount may directly be credited to concerned village account. As the implementation is carried out the implementing agency may be paid by the village Headman keeping proper records and after informing concerned individuals.
At every stage to perform checks and balances a village committee can be constituted for that financial year. At every stage all records must be updated online for transparency.
The example may or may not make sense to many but failures in this model will be fewer and learning quick because people spending money are also the user of the projects implemented. After due consultation and learning from experience a proper model for "Participative  Governance and Program Implementation" may be adopted.

View while sitting atop a sack of potatoes in a train can be hilarious or humbling depending on your mood but the view for poorest of this nation must change now and instead of waiting for things to reach them as usual we must find ways to take our efforts directly to people. The eyes of most downtrodden citizen should be filled with hope not despair. People must see and feel that their government is trying, doesn't matter if it fails while trying.

What is Love?

What is Love,
Your silence, your words,
Or the silence in your words,
Or the words in your silence,
The evenings we spent holding hands in hands,
Or dreams of magical and fairy lands,
My hands playing with your hairs,
Or together us,saying small prayers,

What is love,
A mystical muse,
Or melancholic truce,
A hidden desire,
Or two hearts on fire,
An uncontrollable passion,
Or a trove of emotions,
An unknown expression,
Or God's kindest lesson,

My lovely dear girl,
Love is, when
Things you say without being said,
I follow your step without being led,
Lying on your lap with a little smile,
Impatient me, when I can't see you in a while,
Let's walk through love careless and slow,
While the world awaits someone else to know,
What is love?

KYA YE DESH SIRF MERA HAI

Gungunate hain jab tak panchhi,
Hawayen hain madham,
Pani bahe kal kal jab tak,
Shant sa savera hai,

Meri koi pooch nahi,
Na koi pahchane hai,
Dekh kar bhi andekha kare,
Log bante anjaane hain,
Safedposhon ki badi badi baten,
Khuda walon ki taqriren,
Bhagwan walon ka mandir mudda,
Film staron ki tasveeren,
Udyogpatiyon ke project,
Cricketaron ki ghooskhori ka subject,
Raj thakrey ka Maharashtra,
Narendra modi ka Gujarat,
Itne kolahal se vichlit,
Soche man ka dera hai,
Kya ye desh sirf mera hai,

Jab koi bhuchal aye,
Ya samandar apna taandav dikhaye,
Dushman ka ho akraman,
Ya atankvad ka nirmam pradarshan,

Safedposh nazar nahi ate,
Khuda vale khamosh ho jate,
Mandir wale puja path me dhyan lagate,
Filmkar nayi story pate,
Sankat ka koi samay kya aya,
Raj thakrey ka pata nahi bhaya,
Rahul,modi videsh ko chalen,
Manmohan,Sonia hath hi male,

Aisi vipda ke dauran,
Thoda jab darta har insan,
Mai apni jismo Jan lagake,
Vatan apne kandhon pe uthake,
Dukh ki Kali rat bita ke,
Ek naya savera lata hun,
Fir desh "INHI" ke havale karke,
Jab dheere dheere jata hun,
To phir sochta hai man mera,
Kya ye desh sirf mera hai..

Till we reach our fairy lands

Don't be sieged,don't bemoan,
This world is such a wretched zone,
And love is,its most precious stone,
Thee have love, the world you own..
The god has sometimes assiduous ways,
Suffering lasts weeks and days,
So always look at lovely stars,
Blemish is beautiful,so are scars,
When it comes to you my love,
Perfect is nigh my call,
Imperfect and as you are,
Makes you my shining star,
Such is the handsome glory of love,
It thrives in pain and rises in scrub,
When we walk on treacherous ways it shows,
Its divine will to which our heart bows,
So lets keep walking holding hands,
Till we reach our fairy lands...
Till we reach our fairy lands...

Bachpan

Bachpan ke wo din the pyare,
Sote sote ham jagte the,
Dil hi dil me gussa leke,
Khoob sabere ham uthte the,

Ankh lage jab padhte padhte,
Aur achanak didi thi uthati,
Man bharma me, bat badal ke,
Phir se padhne ham lagte the,

Kitne hi bahane banana,
Kuch bhi ho par school na Jana,
Roni si hum soorat le ke,
Jhuti jhuti kasme kahte the,

Bachpan ke wo din the pyare,
Sote sote hum jagte the.....

Rat andheri itna thi darati,
Sochta tha mai,ye kyun hai ati,
Darte darte jab bahar jate,
Bajrang Bali the bade yad ate,

Sab jab apni mithai khate,
Hum chupke se mutthi me dabate,
Phir hum sabko lalcha lalchke,
Apni wali mithai khate,

Didi thi bada hi satati,
Zara si bat pe daant lagati,
Didi kyun badi hai hamse,
Man hi man sochte rahte the,

Bachpan ke wo din the pyare,
Sote sote hum jagte the.....

Down the memory lane

If it was'nt the darkness,
cold,
and the thick fog of winters,
dryness in my skin,
and those late hours,
of strolling sans purpose,

If it was'nt my loneliness,
silence,
and the calm that came uninvited,
with tragedy in matters of heart,
and tears that waited on the edge of the eye,
with every passing thought,

In those moments of despair,
agony,
and betrayal,life taught me,
my most valuable lesson, that
loving and being loved,
has no place for reason,

If it was'nt what it was,
life,
would have been wasted,
worshiping a shallow heart,
waiting for somebody who was'nt mine,
right from the start.....

Kuch sunana chahta hun

Taro ka bichhauna bicha ke,
Asmano ki satah pe sula ke,
hawaon ki tumko chadar udha ke,
mai kuch gungunana chahta hun,
kuch sun-na,aur kuch sunana chahta hun,

meri khamoshion ke jo matlab hai,
meri tanhayiyon ki adat hai,
mere gham aur mere anshu,
apni ankho se dikhana chahta hun,
kuch sun-na,aur kuch sunana chahta hun,

kuch hongi ankhen nam agar,
kisi ki bewafai ka hai zara asar,
kuch unme phir khushi bhi hai,
tum jaisa mila hamsafar,
ab to gham samet ke,
khushian lutana chahta hun,
kuch sun-na,aur kuch sunana chahta hun......

I WANT TO MISS YOU

Its only in the wilderness of thoughts,
That the sight of you,
So full of life,
Pulls me together,
And i start missing you at once,

Moist with emotions,
And saddened by the memory, of
Sweetest of moments we spent,
I plunge into a spiral,
Un-ending, un-nerving, un-assailable,
Unknowingly then i realise,
How badly i miss you,

Sleep you well,
For i slept a nought,
Last night, that left
Dripping with your thoughts,

Soaked as I am, with
Love so pure,
I leave all purpose,
Close all doors,for
There is nothing, for which
I am so sure,
If there's something to do,
when I am not with you,
My heart but says,
I want to miss u,

If there,s something to do,
when i am not with you,
My heart but says,
I want to miss u.........

LONELY SONGS

At times,
They are my only songs,
Lonely songs,

When I strum my guitar,
To one odd tone,
Move fret to fret,
Singing alone,
Sooner or later,
I see I fall,
To some beautiful line,of
My only songs,
Lonely songs,

I shop,i buy,
Many movies I try,
I roam around,
In packed malls,
I walk, I walk and then
I stop,humming a line of
My only songs,
Lonely songs,

I work in morning,
To days and nights,
I do my work,
Flawlessly bright,
But in a moment of My own,
When I sit and sigh,
I move from within,
To a freedom flight,
To the land of free,
With me and me,
I sleep, I sing with endless joy,
My only songs,
Lonely songs

AS THE TIME ROLLED BY

As I sit behind a tree trunk,
Under rain and clouds,
I think of,
A day passed called Sunday,
A day passed called Diwali,
Rakhi, anniversary and a birthday...
With every passing minute like a day,
All I can realize is that;
A Day Passed!!

I think of,
A theater showing newest movies,
Restaurant offering classy food,
My neighborhood,
My college that I never went to,
My bike, my car,
Home and friends...
And how they became scarcities of life,
As the time rolled by,

I think of,
My aloofness,Absentmindedness,
If its a curse or a bliss,
What I miss is a loss,
Or what I have is a gain...
Like to all questions,
I have a simple answer,"I m happy this way"

I think of it,
As a blessing,
To serve my nation,
With passion and devotion,
But there are regrets a few,and
What I am saying is nothing new,

O dear God I am a small fry,and
Though I say I still feel shy,
Next time u jumble up the things,
Make few soldiers, make few kings,
Make me a just a common man,
Let me have new pleasures, new pains,

Let me see a life new,
To overcome few cravings I never knew,
Hope you hear while a sing,
A common prayer, a needless thing,
When i wander to eternal sleep,
Make this a promise that you will keep,
Make this a promise that you will keep…

TO THE END OF FOREVER

Lets just go back in time,to see
Our first rain,
That lonely train,
Those movies together,and
Moments of laughing or crying in vain,

To tell you,
Many a times I was wrong,
As a volley of emotions came too strong, but
Underneath sheets of crudity, and
Insensitivity galore,
I have a heart really pure,
Untouched by worldly vices, and
My love for you only rises,

Today as we sail through,
A year of love and passion,
Sadness, dejection and countless reasons,
To fight and cry, and
Yet feel really proud,of
The times passed by,

May this mischievous bliss,
Blossom from form to essence,
While we live together,
Loving and forgiving,
Year after year,
To the end of forever....
